I had no idea the answer was in the Church, and it took a family
crisis for me to learn the truth.
I can't imagine what my mom was experiencing. She was living in a nursing home nearby, where we visited her every day. And then suddenly the visits were stopped.
The whole world seemed to be under lockdown.
As much as we wanted to visit her, we weren't allowed into the nursing home. This happened to so many beloved elderly people around the world ... forcibly locked away from their loved ones.
My mom went from thriving to struggling. Her health started to decline. She was in tears - many of the good nurses had left.
My seven siblings and I were beside ourselves. We had to help her. She was our mom!
We prayed and prayed. We couldn't get in to help our mom.
I knew what I needed to do - I started Spiritually Fasting. I just knew that this combination of prayer and physically fasting off sugar, flour, and alcohol would help us resolve this very emotional challenge.
A few weeks... That's all it took.
We found ourselves back in the nursing home, caring for our mom around the clock until she passed away.
No one else was let in. It was truly a miracle.
The other miracle that happened was that my weight decreased. I had gained 30 pounds over those last few years and it was coming off!

What makes your weight loss program uniquely Catholic?
This Spiritual Fasting Program is based on the Sacraments of the Catholic Church. You will learn how frequent attendance of Mass, Adoration, and Confession along with daily Prayer through the Rosary and Scripture can lessen your desire for food and alcohol. The program teaches you how to joyfully eat small, fast big, and feast occasionally right along with the Church seasons by becoming metabolically flexible, spiritually fit, and controlling your emotions. Redemptive suffering by delaying certain foods is offered up as a sacrifice to Jesus through Mary to obtain answered prayers and breakthroughs for your life and the souls of those you love.

What is spiritual fasting?
Spiritual Fasting is simply taking a rest from certain foods for a period of time for a spiritual purpose or breakthrough. It is a delay of eating food while praying instead of eating. This program is about consuming healthy whole foods such as vegetables, good fats, and protein in place of sugar, flour, and alcohol during the week. We teach you to follow a weekly regimen that follows the Catholic Church calendar. This means fasting on Wednesdays and Fridays and feasting on Sundays and special Feast Days of the Church.
Why should I work with you instead of a conventional weight loss program?
This is a new approach combining theology, biology, and neurology that is other-centered where as dieting is self-centered. Spiritual Fasting is an ancient art that has been practiced in the Church for thousands of years. All Christians are asked to fast. This program shows you how to do it successfully and lose weight at the same time. The weight loss becomes the side benefit over time. The motivation to delay the eating of certain foods comes from the heart and the change agent that allows you to be successful is the Grace that comes from Jesus in the Sacraments and Prayer. All suffering is redemptive and should always be offered up to God as prayer, penance, and reparation for sins.
What if I am on a special diet from my doctor or nutrionist?
You can still join Delay and Pray™! I have had many clients on special diets for PCOS, diabetes, IBS and other health concerns. One of the beautiful things about the Church's tradition of Spiritual Fasting is that it can be adapted to individual needs. I'll coach you through how to make any needed adjustments to suit your individual needs.
I would love to do this, but what about social events, my family, and vacations?
This is a common concern for my clients - one that I've coached many through to address their unique situations. At the same time, because it is a shared problem, there are also many coaching call replays available for your immediate reference upon joining Delay and Pray™. There is also flexibility with the Food Protocol and the Eat, Fast, Feast Cycle. It's possible to enjoy all of life's special moments while also living the Eat, Fast, Feast Cycle of the Liturgical Calendar. I'll show you how.
I'm very athletic. Is this suitable for someone who lives an active lifestyle?
Absolutely! This is all part of what I call the Great Experiment. Every woman in Delay and Pray™ experiments to see what works best for her, and it's a process I'll coach you through. Athletes do have special needs, and I've worked with cyclists, runners, and others. I also lift weights and box. I'll be happy to share with you what has worked for my other athletic clients as well as for myself.
